Medieval-origin château in Hauts-de-France. The Hervarre castle brings together several centuries of architecture around its imposing circular limestone stone tower, whose origins date back to the 16th century. The substantial medieval presence dialogues with a classic-writing residential block, raised in the 18th century, then remodeled in the 19th century. The lordship was acquired in 1727 by Jacques-François Macau, pensionary adviser and then lieutenant general at the bailliage of Saint-Omer. The residential block would have been built around 1750 at his initiative; a inscribed stone recalling his name and functions once attested its origin. A new phase of work likely occurred around 1787, followed by a more substantial restoration in the 19th century. The ensemble has preserved numerous elements from the successive eras, legible in the volumes, materials, and layouts. The property, walled, is traversed by the stream that descends from the Aa before joining the domains pond and its various rooms.
